Ayodhya Ram Darbar Consecration Set for June 5: No VIP Invitations from Centre or States

 Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh – May 21, 2025

In a significant development ahead of the highly anticipated consecration of the Ram Darbar at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has officially announced that no VIPs from either the Central or State governments will be invited to the sacred event scheduled for June 5, 2025.

The decision was confirmed by Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Construction Committee, who emphasized that the consecration ceremony would remain a spiritual and religious affair, strictly focused on devotion without political or administrative participation.

A Solemn Spiritual Ceremony

The Ram Darbar, a prominent feature of the newly constructed Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, will depict Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, and Lord Hanuman in a traditional darbar (royal court) setting. The consecration marks a pivotal moment in the temple's ongoing development and religious significance.

Nripendra Misra noted, The ceremony is purely religious. The focus is on Lord Ram and the spiritual legacy of Ayodhya. No invitations are being extended to any political dignitaries, ministers, or bureaucrats at either the central or state level.”

This move is being widely seen as an attempt to ensure that the event remains inclusive and accessible to common devotees, distancing it from the political spotlight that surrounded the grand pran pratishtha (idol consecration) of Lord Ram in January 2024.

Focus on Devotees and Rituals

The ceremony on June 5 is expected to attract thousands of devotees from across India. Elaborate arrangements are being made for crowd management, safety, and ritual purity. The rituals will be conducted by leading priests and Vedic scholars under the guidance of the temple trust.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex continues to be one of the most visited religious sites in India, especially following the idol installation of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024. The upcoming consecration of the Ram Darbar is another landmark event in Ayodhya’s spiritual calendar.

No Disruption from Political Presence

The trust’s decision not to invite political VIPs reflects a conscious effort to prevent overcrowding, enhance security management, and uphold the sanctity of the occasion. This also ensures that the spotlight remains solely on the religious importance of the consecration and not on political narratives.

Temple Construction Progress

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple construction is proceeding in multiple phases, with the sanctum sanctorum already operational. The Ram Darbar is a significant addition that highlights the cultural and mythological grandeur of the temple’s design.

Misra also stated that the trust would continue to provide updates on construction progress and future religious events, while ensuring full transparency and inclusivity.
