Agartala, Tripura, May 21, 2025: Senior BJP leader and former Member of Parliament from West Bengal, Dilip Ghosh, has made his first trip outside his home state after marriage — choosing BJP-ruled Tripura as the destination. The two-day visit marks his first appearance in Agartala with his wife following their recent nuptials.
According to party insiders, Ghosh arrived in Agartala earlier today and is expected to spend the next two days unwinding in the city. On Wednesday, he plans to visit the revered Tripureshwari Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and a prominent spiritual site in Tripura.
While interacting briefly with BJP party workers in the state, Ghosh made it clear to the media that his current trip is strictly personal and family-oriented. "This is not a political visit. I'm here with my wife to spend some peaceful time and seek blessings," he said, choosing not to answer any political questions.
First Post-Marriage Trip Outside Bengal
This visit holds symbolic value, as it's the first time Dilip Ghosh has traveled outside West Bengal after his wedding. Political analysts believe the choice of a BJP-governed state may reflect his continued engagement with the party’s broader network, even in a non-political capacity.
Spiritual Significance and Subtle Signals
His planned visit to the Tripureshwari Temple tomorrow has already created a buzz among local political circles. Though Ghosh emphasized the personal nature of his tour, observers note that his presence in Tripura may still carry political undertones, especially ahead of upcoming organizational reshuffles and state-level strategy meetings within the BJP.
Party Workers Welcome Ghosh Quietly
Local BJP cadres in Agartala extended a warm but low-key welcome to the former state president. Sources say no public meetings or party events are scheduled during his stay, reaffirming the private nature of the visit.
