Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves 'Rahveer' Scheme, Indore Metro Launch, and ₹2,100 Crore Adi Shankaracharya Project at Historic Indore Meeting

 Indore, May 20, 2025In a landmark cabinet meeting held at the historic Rajwada Palace in Indore, the Madhya Pradesh government approved several significant initiatives aimed at enhancing public welfare, infrastructure, and cultural heritage.


'Rahveer' Scheme: Incentivizing Good Samaritans

The cabinet introduced the 'Rahveer' scheme, offering a ₹25,000 reward to individuals who assist in transporting road accident victims to hospitals. Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya emphasized that those aiding victims will not face police questioning, aiming to encourage prompt assistance during emergencies.

Indore Metro Launch: Enhancing Urban Connectivity

The cabinet confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Indore Metro on May 31. The metro's Ring Line, spanning 31.55 km and connecting key areas such as Bengali Square, Vijay Nagar, Bhawarsala, the Airport, and Patasia, is expected to significantly improve urban mobility. 

2,100 Crore Adi Shankaracharya Project: Promoting Cultural Heritage

In a tribute to Adi Shankaracharya, the cabinet approved a ₹2,100 crore project to develop the Omkareshwar area. The initiative includes constructing the 'Statue of Oneness,' a 108-feet tall statue of the philosopher, along with a museum and an International Advaita Vedanta Sansthan. The project aims to transform Omkareshwar into a spiritual and cultural hub. 

Additional Initiatives

The cabinet also approved the construction of hostels for working women in industrial areas, aligning with the state's Vision Document 2047. These hostels aim to support female workers by providing safe and affordable accommodation.
