Bengaluru, May 16, 2025 – In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) Narcotics Wing in Bengaluru arrested a foreign national in connection with a massive seizure of MDMA (Ecstasy) valued at ₹4 crore.
According to officials, the accused was allegedly operating a synthetic drug racket targeting college students and tech professionals in the city. The bust occurred following a tip-off and sustained surveillance by the CCB's Narcotics Control Unit.

Officials stated that the contraband was recovered from a rented apartment, which was allegedly being used as a distribution hub for MDMA across Bengaluru. The accused is suspected to have international connections and may be part of a larger drug syndicate smuggling narcotics into India.
CCB's Continued Crackdown on Narcotics in Bengaluru
This arrest is part of an ongoing effort by Bengaluru Police to curb the rising menace of synthetic drugs in the city. The CCB has intensified its operations in response to an increase in urban drug abuse and the growing presence of foreign drug peddlers.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) emphasized the importance of community cooperation and urged citizens to report suspicious activities anonymously.
"We are committed to making Bengaluru a drug-free city. Our teams are working round the clock to track and dismantle drug networks operating in and around the city," said a senior CCB officer.
Public Awareness and Support
The police have also launched awareness campaigns, particularly targeting youth and educational institutions, to highlight the dangers of MDMA and other synthetic drugs.
